The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one of America’s great natural treasures, carved out over 6 million years by the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, ranges in width from 4 to 18 miles (6.4 to 29 kilometers), and attains a depth of more than a mile (1.6 km), making it one of the deepest on earth. Attracting 5 million visitors to the Canyon annually, it was a favorite of Teddy Roosevelt who visited several times. Aside from casual sightseeing from the South Rim (averaging 7000 feet (2100 meters) above sea level), whitewater rafting, hiking and running are especially popular. Hundreds of fit climbers successfully make the trek from the rim down on foot to the river and back up every year. Tourists wishing for a more vertical perspective can board helicopters and small airplanes in Las Vegas and Phoenix for canyon flyovers.

Travel Basics

A common way to segment travel is Business Travel and Leisure Travel. Since we offer many different ways to book travel, www.Destination-USA.net prefers segment travel into, booking a single item, (like Airfare), booking more than one item, (like Airfare + a Hotel), Vacations, Cruises, Timeshare Rentals, Travel Clubs, and Theme Travel. To offer you the most comprehensive travel web site we have teamed up with several travel partners who each have their own unique advantages. You can read more about our partners in our Travel Partners area.

If you are going to book a single item like a flight, a hotel, or a car our yellow pages directory has over 5000 individual locations that not only provide a map and directions, but in many cases also provide a picture, description, articles, and reviews. For each of these locations we offer you the ability to Book Direct and get the Guaranteed Best Rate. Table A shows you how you can use our Yellow Pages Directory to get the best price if you are only booking a single item.

Outback Steakhouse

The essence of Outback Steakhouse is big, bold food made fresh everyday accompanied by a laid back ‘no worries’ Aussie attitude. The menu offers a flavorful mixed grill of juicy steaks, tender chicken, fresh fish and pasta dishes. All of Outback's soups, sauces, dressings and desserts are homemade made from scratch daily. The restaurant’s signature dishes include USDA Choice beef seasoned with a blend of secret spices, handmade croutons, hand cut fries and the original Bloomin' Onion.

Outback’s selling point though is its atmosphere. The servers, also known as Outbackers, are friendly, knowledgeable and most of all fun.

Portland Travel

The state of Oregon is a prime example of one of the great Northwest Pacific states. Oregon has a one-of-a-kind culture that’s beyond description, one that people truly have to visit in order to understand and appreciate. Many like it so much that they pack up and move there as soon as they get the chance. Why? For starters, Oregon has a great location geographically. Bordered by California and Nevada to the south, Washington to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the west, Oregon is perfect for those that like short drives and inexpensive flights to some of America’s favorite cities and points of interest—not that you’d really want to leave once you’re there, but you could if you wanted to. No doubt, both locals and visitors have plenty of options in Oregon. First, there’s the city of Portland, a must see, where people are genuinely friendly, down to earth, and take pride in their city, their state, and its many amenities. For starters, Oregon has more micro-breweries than anyone could visit on one vacation. That means they also have a lot of unique, privately owned restaurants to complement their wide selection of brewed libations. After a tasty meal and a pint or two of your favorite beer, their state-of-the-art transportation system can take you to happening nightlife, live music venues, theaters, and many other points of interest. Salem and Eugene are also great cities to visit on a trip to Oregon. For active visitors, Oregon’s gorges offer some of the best wind surfing and sailing opportunities around. Or, for those who like the ocean, its hundreds of miles of coastline offer opportunities of all kinds including surfing, body boarding, boating, fishing, seal and whale watching, and of course, romantic walks along the beach in summertime. Other attractions include the green Pacific Coast and Cascade Mountain ranges, expansive deserts, Crater Lake, the deepest in the U.S., the infamous Mount Hood, and the Oregon Trail.
